Dupont’s Coragen Insecticide is a broad-spectrum solution designed to combat a wide range of pests that threaten crops at various growth stages. However, the challenge for this project wasn’t just about explaining the technical benefits of Coragen—it was about engaging farmers in a way that was both informative and entertaining. The key to this project was to avoid using technical jargon that could alienate the target audience, who might not be familiar with scientific terms. Instead, we focused on creating a video that was visually engaging and fun, yet still educational. To achieve this, we decided to use 2D animation, which allowed us to transform crops, vegetables, and pests into animated characters. This approach turned an otherwise dry topic into something lively, approachable, and relatable. Each character in the animation was given a distinct, almost theatrical personality, adopting traits inspired by the playful, exaggerated nature of typical Hindi films. For example, the pests were portrayed as mischievous troublemakers with bold personalities, while the crops were brave, heroic figures determined to protect their future. This approach created a lighthearted atmosphere that made learning about pest control feel enjoyable and memorable. The animated story was crafted to follow the journey of Coragen, as it helps crops fend off pests at every stage, from immature to adult stages. The final video was a mix of education and entertainment—delivering critical pest control knowledge in a way that spoke directly to farmers, while keeping the tone light and engaging. The success of the project lies in how it balanced the technical with the accessible, making Coragen’s benefits clear and exciting for the target audience.
