What Should a Corporate Video Include?
By Palok, Founder, The Qurious Studio. Delhi NCR.
Ask ten people what a corporate video should include and you will get a checklist. A strong opening. The company logo. A testimonial. A call to action. Good music.
None of it is wrong. All of it comes second.
Before any of that, a corporate film has to get three things right. We build every project around them, whether it is a corporate film, a brand film or a documentary, and they are the reason a film made in Delhi NCR or anywhere else either lands or doesn't.
The three things every corporate video must include
1. The audience: who is watching?
A corporate film is never for "everyone". It is for a specific group of people with a specific context: where they are coming from, what they already know, what language they speak, and what relationship they have with you.
An employee town hall, an investor presentation and a dealer meet are three different audiences, even if the company and the message are the same. There is no one size or style that fits all. The film has to be shaped around the people who will watch it.
2. The challenge: what is the problem?
There is no hero without a villain.
Every good story has something standing in the way. For a corporate film, that is the problem your product or service solves, or the impossible feat your team has achieved. It is also the gap between what you need to say and what your audience is ready to hear.
Finding that gap is where the real work begins. A film that skips it ends up as a list of things the company is proud of, which is not the same as a story.
3. The outcome: what should happen after the film ends?
What do you want your audience to feel, do or believe once the film is over?
A film without a clear intended outcome is just content. If you know the outcome, you can work backwards from the moment the film lands, and every decision (what to include, what to cut, how it ends) has a reason beyond looking good.
Before the outer personality of a film comes its inner character.
These three questions are also the heart of how we work at The Qurious Studio. Everything else, the script, the shoot and the edit, follows from the answers.
Then comes the personality
Once audience, challenge and outcome are clear, the rest falls into place: tone of voice, look and feel, music, pace, who speaks and how.
These choices matter. But they are the outer personality of the film. They work best when they serve the inner character, and they tend to go wrong when they are chosen first.

What a corporate video is better off without
Too many messages
Clients know their business better than any studio does. What many of us do not know is how communication works. When you say too many things in one film, the audience takes away nothing.
This is why we ask clients to resist stuffing everything in. Every extra message dilutes the main one. Decide what the film must say, and let the rest live somewhere else: a website, a brochure, a follow-up film.
Charts, graphs and data sets (unless they truly matter)
Film is a moving medium. Nobody pauses a video to read a chart. When a dense graph appears on screen, viewers either try to read it and miss what is being said, or give up and drift out of the film.
If a number matters, say it clearly, once, and make people feel why it matters. Keep the detailed data for a document people can read at their own pace.
How should a corporate video be structured?
It depends on your story and your context, so there is no fixed template.
That said, we prefer a simple, linear narrative. It is easier to follow and easier to remember. The film starts where the audience is, moves through the challenge, and arrives at the outcome. Simple does not mean dull. We use creative tools to keep every film engaging, but never at the cost of making the story harder to understand.
How long should a corporate video be?
We recommend keeping it under five minutes, unless the format or platform you plan to use requires otherwise. A film should be as long as the story needs, and not a minute more.

Before you brief a studio: three questions to answer
If you are planning a corporate film, try answering these before your first conversation:
Who exactly is this film for? Describe the people, not a category.
What is the problem or the achievement at the heart of it?
What should they think, feel or do after watching?
You do not need perfect answers. A good studio will help you sharpen them. But if you can answer these three, the rest of the brief becomes much easier. If budget is on your mind too, we have written a separate guide on what a corporate film costs to make in Delhi NCR.
Frequently asked questions about corporate video content
What should a corporate video include?
Three foundations: a clearly defined audience, a clear challenge (the problem you solve or the feat you have achieved), and a defined outcome (what you want the audience to feel, do or believe). Tone, look and music come after.
How long should a corporate video be?
We recommend under five minutes, unless the format or platform requires a different length.
Should a corporate video include data and charts?
Only if they are truly relevant. Film is a moving medium and viewers rarely pause to read a chart. It is usually better to say a key number clearly and keep detailed data for a document.
What is the best structure for a corporate video?
It depends on your story, but a simple, linear narrative is usually the easiest to follow and the most effective.
Why do corporate videos feel generic?
Often because they try to say too much, or because the audience, challenge and outcome were never defined before the shoot.
How do I brief a corporate film production company in Delhi NCR?
Start by answering three questions: who is the film for, what is the challenge at its heart, and what should the audience feel, do or believe afterwards. Then share your budget and your deadline.
